North American Skunk

Critters Interactive currently have a vacancy for a full-time skunk however, we will often appear with a skunk on display, they are generally sociable animals & can make great pets. Once matured & socialised to humans & other domestic animals they will rarely resort to spraying in captivity.

The skunk is a large American mustelid (related to ferrets and weasels).  They are noted for their warning colouration as opposed to being camouflaged like most animals and their ability to spray as a defense mechanism. This results in them having very few natural predators in the wild. They are omnivorous, eating small animals, insects and worms as well as nuts and berries.
