Tarantulas

Large hairy spiders ! It should be noted that we do not often utilise tarantulas for events this is more due to the vulnerability of the animal than any risk it may present to people, however these animals are venomous & anyone who has a hypersensitivity to wasp/bee stings should be identified at any event – the venom has a similar effect upon the respiratory system & this group of people are inevitably more at risk of anaphylactic reaction and should not handle spider or scorpions.

Tarantulas may be displayed at some events and usually the most common tarantulas in the pet trade, known for being relatively docile and non-aggressive will be the only types used for any handling. The tarantula’s diet consists of medium sized insects and grubs. Female tarantulas can live up to twenty years, males usually around ten.
